What is a Duolingo Event?

A Duolingo Event is a group experience led by a fluent speaker for language learners to improve their speaking skills.  Events are like low-pressure online classrooms that can include conversations, class-like lessons, or other activities like word games or even karaoke!

Events are flexible, but are best when they: 

• Give attendees opportunities to speak

• Gather 5-50 learners

• Last for 30-60 minutes

• Are focused on 1 language and 1 level (e.g. absolute beginner Spanish)

How do I start hosting?

Here’s what to expect:

1. Introduce yourself to our team by uploading a short video of yourself (mention if you use Duolingo for Schools!)

2. Submit a plan for your first event

3. We’ll review your application within two weeks and reach out to you with an update
