Creating a classroom in Duolingo for Schools is an important step. If you are new to Duolingo for Schools, you will be invited to create your first class while accessing Duolingo for Schools for the first time.
If you anticipate importing your students from a Google Classroom, we recommend creating your account using the "Sign Up with Google" button (it'll save you some time later, we promise! If you do not use Google Classroom, feel free to proceed with the manual registration by entering your information in the boxes provided or by signing up using your Facebook account.
After completing this step, you will be invited to input the specifics required to generate your first online classroom.
Note: All Duolingo courses are structured using language pairs; this way, it's not possible to set "What language is this classroom learning?" and "What language should we use for Duolingo instructions and notifications?" to the same language.
Creating additional Duolingo classrooms
On the other hand, if you already have a classroom on Duolingo for Schools, you’ll follow a different process to add additional classes. From your teacher dashboard, select the “New Class” button located on the left of your screen, right below your existing classrooms.
This will direct you to the same classroom creation screen you saw when creating your Duolingo for Schools account. You will see the option to import your students from Google Classroom as well.
Simply provide the information, click “Finish,” and begin creating gamified, individualized learning experiences for your students!
