Duolingo for Schools uses student emails to send practice reminders and retrieve lost passwords. However, Duolingo recognizes that not all students have email addresses.
If you would like to add your students to one of your existing classrooms without an email, you absolutely can!
Under the Students tab, find the "Add Students" button - it should appear right away if you haven't added any students in the past. If your classroom has students already, click "Manage Students" and then "Add Students" next.
This will open a window where you need to select the “add directly” tab.
Start adding your students' names, one per line. When you are done adding the names, press "Next." From there, you will be brought to a review screen to make any needed edits or adjustments.
After that, we will generate a roster with your students' credentials, including usernames and passwords - just like the one below. You will get a copy in your email as well.
Note: Once the accounts are generated and the roster is created, you won't be able to retrieve this information anywhere in Duolingo, so please keep the file in a safe place.
