This quick guide will walk you through the steps to edit or delete XP (Experience Points) assignments from your Duolingo for Schools dashboard. This will help you keep your assignments updated and tailored to your students' needs.
To get started, log into your Duolingo for Schools account and navigate to the Reports tab of a specific classroom. This is where you will find all current and past assignments - and where you can either edit or delete your assignments.
Editing an XP Assignment
Select the assignment you want to edit and hover your mouse cursor over the gear icon on the right-hand menu. You can then click "Edit."
This will open a window where you can select a new amount of experience points for your assignment. If you are not looking to change its due XP amount, just select the same amount as you had before.
The next step will be to select a new start and due dates.
Once you're done, click on the Save button to update the assignment.
Note: Past assignments can be edited, but new dates need to be dated in the future. This will automatically reopen it as a current assignment.
Deleting an XP Assignment
Select the assignment you want to delete and hover your mouse cursor over the gear icon on the right-hand menu. You can then click "Delete."
You will see a confirmation window, and once you click "Delete" once again, the assignment will be removed from your dashboard.
Note: Recurring assignments work a bit differently, so before you are able to edit or delete them, Duolingo will ask if you want to make the change to a specific instance or to the entire cadence (all instances). In this case, to avoid confusion, we recommend replacing the recurring assignments instead of editing them.
