When you assign work to a class, you are able to select the due date for your students to complete their assignments. If your students do not complete their assignments before the due date you selected, they will be displayed as “missed” on your dashboard and theirs. The assignment will continue to be labeled “missed” until it is completed, at which point it will be labeled as “late” if completed after its due date.
On the right side of the “Reports” tab, you can view the percentage of all past assignments that were completed on time, submitted late, or missed. You can click on a specific assignment to view its details, including which specific students submitted the assignment late or have not yet submitted it.
If your students would like to view their missing assignments, you can just tell them to view their missing work in the 'My Assignments' section on the right side of their home screen. If the deadline for an assignment has passed, its original due date will appear in yellow. Overdue assignments will remain visible there until they are completed.
Late XP Assignments
Regarding experience points assignments, all experience points earned will be counted toward the assignment with the latest deadline. Students can only take on XP assignments one at a time, and all earlier assignments will appear greyed out and unclickable. This means that overdue XP assignments can only be started once all active XP assignments are completed.
In other words, if you create an XP assignment and set its due date to be Jan 12, and then create a second assignment, which is due on Jan 19, but a student did not complete the first assignment by the time the second assignment begins, all work that they do will be counted toward the second assignment - which has the latest due date (Jan 19) - until it is finished, and only then, their work will be applied to the assignments with earlier due dates.
What if a student is added to a classroom after I assign some work?
If the assignment is active (before its due date), it is automatically added to the student's 'My Assignments' section, and the student is able to complete the assignment.
However, if the assignment is past due, it will not be visible to the student who joined the classroom after the assignment's due date. This way, students can only complete late assignments if they join the classroom before the assignment's due date.
